Experiments

I experimented with several tools creating smaller projects ranging from 3D, rigging, animation to augmented reality.

3D Scan

I started this project by 3D scanning a set of punching movements. To scan the 3D model I made use of an iPad Pro and the 3D Scanner App. Lidar hardware is needed for this particular app, making it an efficient tool. I finished up the models by cleaning blemishes and glitches using Blender. Lastly, I created compositions for a photo as well as a tracking shot.

Augmented Reality

This is an AR based prototype of an application in which the user can see the meaning of body language of a canine through a 3D model of a dog. The user can toggle through various emotional states of said dog and be further educated by the canine’s state through highlighted traits. For this project I built a 3D model of a low polygon dog using blender. In this program I also rigged said dog and added animation sequences. Following this I used unity with the plugin vuforia and coded a prototype.

Facial Recognition

As part of a university project, an interactive mirror, I coded a program to censor an unhappy face.

IK-Rig

I created an ik-rig of a walking character. I drew four 4 layers for the scene, one of which being the character. I connected the individual parts of the body to the skeleton using a plug-in in Adobe AfterEffects and turned it into a walk animation. This I modified to fit the characters and finally added facial animation elements.

Animation

As part of a university project I created a short animation regarding a special ability. I chose the ability to have anything drawn comes to life. I started by sketching a storyboard and animating everything using Clip Studio Paint.

Run Cycle

For this project I created a run cycle with real imagery. Same as with the prior ik-rig, I made use of a back-, mid- and foreground. I cut out individual elements using Photoshop and animated everything using Adobe After Effects.
